About the studio
Boutique studio.
Unfair advantage.
Grey Sky Media has been building software since December 1999. What started as a web studio in Rocklin, California has shipped hundreds of projects across native apps, SaaS, brand, and infrastructure. In 2025 we made a deliberate call: stay boutique, build a full AI dev team alongside the senior engineers, and let the leverage compound.
What we do

The AI team
A full dev team that runs alongside every project.
Named after the roles a real studio needs — project director, senior engineer, designer, security auditor, QA, DevOps, scrum master. Each runs in Claude Code with a specific mandate, persistent memory of how this studio works, and access to a shared work queue.
They draft, audit, test, and document. Humans review and ship. The result is boutique quality at a scale that used to require a much bigger team.

Work enters the queue
Every task — feature, bug, audit — goes into a shared queue visible to client and studio alike.
The right agent picks it up
A project director triages and assigns. The relevant specialist — engineer, security auditor, QA — executes against their mandate.
Humans review and ship
No AI output reaches production without a senior review. Tests pass first. Then it ships.
Everything is visible
Standups, agent threads, work queues, and lessons learned — all of it at team.greyskymedia.com. Clients have full access.
How we operate
-
01
Tests before claims.
Every product we ship runs hundreds of tests on every change. "It works on my machine" is not a release criterion.
-
02
Boring stacks, deliberately.
Cloudflare Workers + D1 + JavaScript for SaaS. Native Swift where users will notice. WordPress when editors need to own the content. We pick tools that age gracefully.
-
03
Security is non-negotiable.
Secrets stay in vendor consoles, not in repos. Every change passes a security audit. Every legacy site we touch leaves harder than we found it.
-
04
Clients see the work.
The same dashboard we use — standups, agent threads, work queues, lessons — is open to clients. No hidden hours, no "trust us, we're working on it."
