1. Overview

Grey Sky Media offers applications and integrations for the Clover Platform ("Clover Apps"). This Privacy Policy explains how our Clover Apps collect, use, and protect merchant and customer data when you use our services in connection with Clover Point of Sale systems.

2. Data Collection via Clover API

Our Clover Apps request access to specific data through the Clover API to provide functionality. The data we access may include:

  • Merchant account information (name, location, contact details)
  • Customer records (names, emails, phone numbers, loyalty data)
  • Transaction data (order history, totals, payment methods)
  • Inventory information (product names, SKUs, pricing)
  • Employee data (names, roles, access levels)

We only request permissions necessary for our Apps to function. You control which permissions you grant when installing our App.

3. How We Use Clover Data

We use data accessed from Clover exclusively to:

  • Provide the specific functionality of our App
  • Improve and optimize the App experience
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and provide customer support
  • Comply with legal and regulatory requirements

We do not sell, share, or transfer your Clover data to third parties without your explicit consent, except as required by law or to trusted service providers who assist us in providing the App (under written data processing agreements).

4. Third-Party Data Processors

To provide our services, we may engage third-party processors for:

  • Cloud hosting (Cloudflare)
  • Customer support and analytics
  • Payment and billing infrastructure

All third-party processors are contractually bound to protect your data and use it only as directed by Grey Sky Media.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect merchant and customer data:

  • Encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest
  • Secure authentication and OAuth 2.0 for Clover API access
  • Regular security assessments and updates
  • Restricted access based on role and need-to-know
  • Compliance with Clover's security requirements

6. Data Retention

We retain Clover data only as long as necessary to provide the App and comply with applicable law. When you uninstall or deauthorize our App, we cease accessing new data from Clover. Retained data will be securely deleted according to our standard retention policies, typically within 30 days of deauthorization.

7. Your Rights and Controls

You have the right to:

  • Authorize: Choose which permissions to grant our App through Clover's App authorization process
  • Revoke: Uninstall the App or revoke permissions at any time through your Clover dashboard
  • Access: Request a list of what data we have accessed for your account
  • Delete: Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements)

8. Compliance with Clover Terms

Our App complies with Clover's Marketplace Developer Terms and Conditions. Our use of Clover data is governed by Clover's own privacy policies and data handling requirements.
